Welcome to Stonehaven Fetteresso Church of Scotland
Just moved to Stonehaven? Or maybe you’ve been living here for some time and are now looking for a church? Fetteresso Church is the place to be.
Fetteresso Church is a vibrant Christian community of all ages.
We believe that worshipping God should never be boring or dull. Using multimedia and a mixture or contemporary and traditional music, we offer an environment where God can be worshipped, his Word can be understood, and friendships can be made.
There’s lots going on at Fetteresso Church…… why not check us out.
Our Aims
We don’t make up the aims for the church, we’ve got to discover the aims and purposes of God for our church and learn to apply them for our generation.
Jesus promised to build his church; did he leave any clues or guiding principles to help us answer how to build our church? I think he did.
Two verses, both from Jesus, are foundational for Fetteresso Church.
We see them as Jesus’ blueprint for a healthy church.
The Great Commandment
Love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the most important commandment. The second is like it. Love your neighbour as you love yourself. Matthew 22:37,38
The Great Commission
I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Go then to all people’s everywhere, and make them my disciples, baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:18
These 2 verses give God’s purpose for the church.
Love the Lord Your God with all your heart:- Worship
Love your neighbour as yourself: Service
Go and make disciples: Evangelism
Baptise them: Fellowship
Teaching them to obey what I have commanded you: Discipleship
Worship: Expressing our love for God with our whole life, not just on Sunday
Service: Demonstrating God’s love to others by meeting their needs, and healing their hurts in Jesus’ name. Equipping God’s people for works of service.
Evangelism: Presenting the Good News about Jesus, in an appropriate way to those in our community
Fellowship: Encouraging, and practically supporting those who belong to the body of Christ.
Discipleship: Helping people to become more like Jesus in their thoughts, feelings and behaviour.
