Service in Fetteresso is modelled on the example of Christ who “..came not to be served but to serve others ….” (Matt. 20:28 NLT)

As followers of Christ, we too are called to serve others. The form that service takes will very much depend on what has shaped and influenced our development as individuals and also our own personal circumstances. This personal approach to serving (ministry) recognises that every church member has distinctive gifts to offer and service to give. It is only through the ministry of all believers that the church can truly reflect the diversity of gifts that God gives for service.

To help members discover their ministry, we run a SHAPE course three times a year. This course provides an opportunity to reflect on five factors that influence who we are:

S      Spiritual gifts      “What am I gifted to do?”
H      Heart                 “What do I love to do?”
A      Abilities              “What natural talents have I been given by God?”
P      Personality         “Where does my personality best suit me to serve?”
E      Experiences        “What have I learned from life’s experiences?”

Your service will be most effective and fulfilling when you are using your Gifts and Abilities in the area of your Heart’s Desire in a way that best expresses your Personality and Experiences.
