Home Sunday School - Sunday 14th June

Intro:

Sometimes we read or hear all of the different stories in the Old Testament or the New Testament, and they teach us something about God by themselves, but we don't always realise that all of these different stories are actually the same story!  Watch the video.

Read it!

Today's Bible passage comes from Genesis 12: 1-4.  The Good News Translation is below, or you can use a different version if you'd like.

The Lord said to Abram, “Leave your country, your relatives, and your father's home, and go to a land that I am going to show you. I will give you many descendants, and they will become a great nation. I will bless you and make your name famous, so that you will be a blessing.

I will bless those who bless you,
But I will curse those who curse you.
And through you I will bless all the nations.”

When Abram was seventy-five years old, he started out from Haran, as the Lord had told him to do.

Time to Worship:

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank you that you have always been the same throughout history.  You never change, and we can trust in you.  Thank you that even though we sin, you still love us.  Thank you that you had a plan, right from that very first sin, to bring us back to be called your friends and your children, and to be able to live as you always intended - as your people.  We pray that you would give us the strength to say "no" to temptation, and to seek to follow you with all we have in everything we do.  In Jesus' name, Amen.
