Sunday 20th September 2020 - Online Service

Welcome to the online Fetteresso Church Service - Church At Home for this week.

The theme of this week’s Service is Forgiveness. Many thanks to Marieke Wood for leading us through this Service, and to Rev Dr Bill Wallace for preaching. Thanks also to Ian Gillis our Choirmaster and Organist for the Musical interludes. Due to the current guidelines any music praise items in this Online Service have been added in from our extensive Digital Sound Archives. So many thanks to Ian and the Choir, the Worship Band and of course you for providing us with this wonderful Musical database of Worship at Fetteresso.

Marieke in her call to worship for this service reads from Hebrews 4 v 14 to 16. You may want to read and reflect on those Bible Verses, especially v16:  “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need”.   I can’t think of a more appropriate verse for our times, as this is indeed a time of great need.

The Rev Bill Wallace in his talk today reminds us of the importance of forgiving others. While this may be hard to do, again Hebrews 4 puts that into context. Through God’s grace and mercy we have been forgiven, so how much more do we need to lay down those grudges, and forgive those who have slighted us. We then will find that we are the ones that will be set free. Bill in his presentation uses this quote from Max Lucado:-

Keep Safe Keep Singing Keep Forgiving
