Welcome to the online Fetteresso Church Service - Church At Home for this week.
Just follow through the video clips for our digital service.
The past two weeks have been difficult and sad weeks for Fetteresso and more than doubly so in these troubling and uncertain times. With the death of Alex Nicoll on the 10th of June and this week I am sure we were all very sadden to hear of the passing of Mary Wood.
Please hold Peter, Emma and Family in your prayers at what will be a very sad time for them.
Remember to pray for those that were especially close to Mary and for those that minister
and give pastoral care at this time.
In the order of service, I had the Introit “Sing a Joyful Song” by the young voices of the Fair City Singers and while this was removed, I have put this back in. This is because Ian Gillis reminded me that in his very early days at Fetteresso that he and Mary formed a Sunday School Junior Choir of some 20 to 30 youngsters. I am also sure that Mary would be the first to point out that we are called to, as Philippians 4 v4 says, “Rejoice in the Lord always.” And again, Mary’s other strong point: PRAYER – follows on in v6: -
“Do not be anxious about anything,
but in every situation,
by prayer and petition,
present your requests to God”
A reflection time is included in the service where Ian plays a new recording of “There is a Redeemer”
to the backdrop of the Banners that Mary as part of the Banner Group would have been involved in making. There is no singing on the music track, but you will know the words – especially the last verse.
May we as a people of God find comfort in Prayer and Praise today, even in such sad days and difficult times.
